The Master Locksmiths Association of Australasia (MLAA) offers many different benefits and services to its Business Members, Trade Members and Individual Members, but our focus is always on the 700-plus Australian & New Zealand locksmithing businesses that make up our Business Members group.

‘Master Locksmiths’ Trust Badge

Only current Business Members of the Association are allowed to use and wear this well-known and well established trust badge. The badge allows the wearer to be recognised as a qualified tradesperson and security industry professional.

Exclusive Products

The Master Locksmiths Association owns and maintains trademarks design registrations and patents for certain products, shapes and technical designs.

As a Business Member, you will get access to these restricted systems via our industry providers and suppliers.
Restricted products include:

  • LS Series
  • DC-1 Series
  • NZ Series


Access to these products is exclusive, and the products are further protected under the MLAA’s Constitution, Bylaws and Code of Conduct.

MLAA Business Members have access to information, policies, guidelines and templates that assist them in running a successful business that meets all its legislative requirements.

The MLAA provides content, downloads and contacts in areas like:

Both partners offer very competitive rates on P & PL insurance, as well as Bus Packs, Life Insurance, Travel Packs, Motor Vehicle Insurance, and more.

Events & Networking Opportunities

The main industry events in Australia and New Zealand are organised and hosted by the Master Locksmiths Association.

In addition to these annual events, the MLAA facilitates around 20-30 local and regional Branch & Member Meetings. Some of these meetings are hosted by Industry Partners or Trade Members.

These events are designed to help Members access the very latest products, build relationships with manufacturers and suppliers, and to establish a network with their locksmithing peers.

The two annual events of the MLAA are:

  • National Conference and Trade Expo (AU, around October)
  • NZ Trade & Training Event (NZ, around July)

Marketing & Promotion

One of the main assets of the Association is the ‘Master Locksmiths’ brand. The ongoing National and International promotion of this brand generates a focussed demand that will benefit Business Members in Australia and New Zealand.

In addition, the MLAA provides Marketing Material, content and channels that can be used by our Business Members to promote themselves as a Master Locksmith.

Through MLAA publications in traditional channels (e.g. brochures) or modern channels (e.g social media), our Business Members have the opportunity to grow their own brand and customer base (likes, shares etc.).

  • Education
    Vocational training and ongoing education is a big focus for the Association. We have partnered with leading organisations providing courses and training in areas such as Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting and Business Development.

    To support our Members in running a successful business, we can products (e.g. Disclaimer Pads), brochures (MLAK Brochure) and connections to suppliers and manufacturers of business necessities such as entrance logo mats, racking and storage systems, and signage.

    As a Business Member, you can take full advantage of all marketing and promotional efforts of the MLAA, online and offline, in print or social media.
